We're proud to be delivering the Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP), and we're looking for the best people to help make it happen. QTMP involves the design, manufacture and maintenance of 65 new six-car passenger trains to support Cross River Rail and the 2032 Brisbane Olympic and Paralympic Games. These trains will be built at a new, purpose-built facility in Torbanlea on the Fraser Coast. This is your chance to be part of an industry leading, world class project. You'll work with cutting‑edge technology in state‑of‑the‑art facilities, alongside a passionate and skilled team. The role at a glance In this role, you will play a vital part in the electrical assembly, testing, and commissioning of next‑generation railcars. Key Responsibilities Perform wire cutting, labelling, crimping, and termination to precise specifications. Install electrical looms and components in accordance with engineering drawings and work instructions. Conduct electrical testing, measurement, and fault finding to ensure system integrity and performance. Support statutory and preventative maintenance activities across production systems. Respond to facility asset breakdowns and assist during equipment failures to minimise downtime. Work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams to meet production and quality targets. About you Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician. Familiarity with rollingstock electrical systems, manufacturing, and testing processes. Sound knowledge of Queensland electrical regulations and relevant Australian electrical standards. The ability to dismantle, repair, replace, assemble, and fit engineering components. Skilled in precision electrical and electronic measurement. Experience in terminating and connecting electrical wiring, including electrical crimping.
