About the role: The overall purpose of the Coordinator, Foster & Kinship Care is to provide quality guidance, direction, and supervision to a team of Practitioners and at times Youth Workers to ensure the recruitment, training, assessment, ongoing support of Foster and Kinship Carers and children in their care is maintained as per service agreement requisites. The coordinator is also responsible for ensuring that the program meets the standards set out by the Department of Communities, Child Safety, and Disability Services (Child Safety Services). In addition, this role co‑coordinates with another coordinator and we are looking for an individual that can truly work in partnership with their peers. This is a Permanent Full-Time position working 76 hours per fortnight based in Gympie. Starting payrate of $55.72 Responsibilities Provide leadership and professional supervision for all team staff to ensure effective performance within their roles. Ensure the program complies with relevant statutory, licensing, and organizational requirements as per the funding contract. Support Practitioners in assessing individual placement support needs and implementing appropriate interventions based on program type. Oversee and mentor staff to undertake comprehensive, quality care planning, assessments, and reports, focusing on the best interests of the child. Build and maintain internal and external relationships based on trust, respect, and professional sensitivity. Develop strong professional relationships with Foster & Kinship Carers, children, young people, and key stakeholders, including Department of Communities, Child Safety, and Disability Services staff. Ensure clear and consistent communication within the team, including coordinating regular team meetings. Develop and maintain a positive team culture, characterized by professional practice and collaborative problem‑solving. Participate constructively in the development, improvement, and implementation of systems, processes, policies, and procedures related to care regulation, licensing, and Anglicare requirements. Monitor and maintain relevant documentation to ensure the program aligns with licensing requirements and legislation and ensure Practitioners and Youth Workers maintain professional records. Qualifications, Credentials and Other Requirements Degree in Health, Human Services, Behavioural Science, Social Work, Psychology or similar (essential). Current National Police Check. Current Blue Card. Current Licensed Care Service (LCS). Current Queensland Driver Licence. Certificate IV in Workplace Training, Assessment and Evaluation (desired). Ability and willingness to travel within the service region. Ability and willingness to work outside of standard business hours and provide on‑call support as required. About You Applied knowledge of child protection and out‑of‑home care frameworks, including the Child Protection Act (1999) and relevant legislation. Well‑developed practice framework that is culturally sensitive. Ability to manage and provide effective team leadership and supervision. Demonstrated experience as a Child Protection practitioner, ideally within an out‑of‑home care context. Strong problem‑solving, decision‑making, and negotiation skills, particularly in crisis situations. Ability to develop and maintain relationships with the Department of Communities (Child Safety Services) and other programs to support children and carers. Proven ability to work cooperatively in a team environment. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Relevant experience within a community services or similar organization (desired). Understanding of quality management and continuous improvement processes, and the Human Service Quality Standards (desired). Experience and understanding of developmental disabilities (FASD, ASD, Autism etc.) and the intersection of trauma‑related behaviours. Why Join Anglicare?
