The company is founder-led, profitable, and growing, with 1200+ colleagues in 75+ countries and few office-based roles. The role Senior Project Manager for Canonical's Devices business. This role coordinates and completes large complex customer-facing projects, overseeing project delivery and acting as the primary liaison between Canonical's engineering teams and customers. You will manage projects delivering Ubuntu images on devices ranging from robots, edge gateways, and IoT devices to PCs and automotive systems. You will build and maintain relationships with team members, customers, partners/vendors (silicon vendors, OEMs, ODMs, IHVs), and Canonical departments. Location: This role will be based remotely in the APAC region. Responsibilities Managing projects through their complete life cycle and ensuring goals for Canonical and the client are met Delivering engineering professional services for assigned projects Working with engineering teams on custom board enablement and delivery of Ubuntu images to customers Developing project statements of work Drafting and maintaining project schedules and plans Gaining client approval to schedules and work items Ensuring on-time, within-scope delivery Managing project risk and mitigation plans Driving technical issues to deliver desired outcomes Maintaining daily and weekly client and internal stakeholder communications Managing delivery schedule of third-party deliverables Keeping management informed of project status Identifying custom engineering requests outside existing contracts Advocating for Canonical technologies with customers Supporting different time zones and non-traditional hours as required Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events What we are looking for Solid project management experience delivering engineering services to customers and coordinating software development teams Experience managing cross-cultural, multi-region resources (Asia, Europe, the Americas) Educational degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math Good knowledge of Linux and the Open Source Software community; understanding of computer architecture Excellent verbal and written English communication skills Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities; proven ability to build internal and external partnerships PMP/PMI or PRINCE2 Practitioner Certification preferred Ability to work non-standard hours to support a worldwide team Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events What we offer We offer compensation based on location, experience, and performance, with annual reviews and a performance-driven bonus or commission.
