The Opportunity We’re seeking an experienced and proactive Safety and Compliance professional to assist with our national health, safety, environment, and quality initiatives during a parental leave period. This role is key to maintaining a safe, compliant, and positive workplace culture across our Australian operations. There will be a focus on compliance and audits in this role. The position is for a temporary duration which may be 3, 6 or more months. Reporting To Director National Operations, with close collaboration across senior leadership and project teams. Flexibility This position offers flexibility in location, working hours, and days. It can be structured as full-time or part-time, making it ideal for professionals seeking a balanced work arrangement for a three or six month contract. Key Responsibilities Drive WHSEQ awareness, compliance, and culture across all sites. Maintain and update WHSEQ systems and documentation (SharePoint & R: Drive). Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards. Conduct and coordinate internal compliance audits. Lead incident investigations and risk management activities. Conduct site inspections, internal audits, and WHSEQ training. Support project teams with safety documentation and compliance. Liaise with regulatory bodies and escape critical issues as needed. Prepare monthly WHSEQ reports and chair WHSEQ meetings. Ensure the effective implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the WHSEQ and Environmental Management Systems in line with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards. This includes allocating appropriate resources, reviewing policies and system effectiveness, integrating WHSEQ into business operations, and promoting a strong safety and environmental culture. The role also involves leading WHSEQ meetings, supporting leadership accountability, and ensuring regulatory compliance, including immediate reporting of notifiable incidents. What You’ll Bring 5+ years’ experience in WHS, Environmental, and Quality Systems. Strong knowledge of ISO standards and WHSEQ system implementation. Experience in construction, electrical, AV, or telecommunications industries. Skilled in incident investigation and root cause analysis. Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel interstate.
