Volunteer Mini‑Bus Driver – HammondCare Spread Joy, by joining our Volunteer Team The HammondCare Volunteer program is a great way for you to make a meaningful difference to the life of an older person, right here in Hunter NSW. With your assistance as a mini‑bus driver, elderly residents from HammondCare aged‑care home in Waratah will enjoy short outings around the local area. You will be accompanied by one of our care staff who will look after the residents’ care needs. Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated. HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community. HammondCare is an independent Christian charity and we're passionate about improving the quality of life for people in need. We have a wonderful group of volunteers that partner with us to enhance the lives of people cared for by HammondCare. Category: Seniors & Aged Care Commitment: Regular – more than 6 months Type of Work: Companionship & Social Support, Driving & Transportation, Seniors & Aged Care Time Required: Weekday outings for a few hours during the week, happy to discuss the times that work each week on our current roster. Training: Training is provided as well as ongoing support.
