Payroll Lead ISGroup is a progressive surveying and geospatial organisation, dedicated to providing innovative solutions and exceptional client service. With strength in data acquisition and imagery for aerial, land and subsurface needs, we specialise in providing intelligent geospatial solutions through our subsidiaries at Land Surveys, IntelliSpatial, Utility Mapping and Photomapping Service. About the role You will be based in our Perth or Melbourne office and be responsible for leading a small payroll function and providing advice to our People team on payroll processing and remuneration practices. In this role you will review the Definitiv Payroll System design and rules to ensure all awards are configured correctly, and ensure our employees are paid accurately and on time. Experience in remuneration benchmarking, minimum wage audits, award compliance and annual remuneration review practices is ideal. Key responsibilities Oversee a small payroll team with a global footprint in Australia, Papua New Guinea, New Zealand and the UK Design best‑practice payroll processes to support smooth, timely payroll processing Coordinate payroll processing with our outsourced provider in the UK Review and refine payroll cut‑off and approval processes Adjust award and system configuration as needed Guide minimum wage, casual conversion and compliance audits Develop training content for new starters on booking leave and updating banking details Support data migration for new revenue streams into our payroll system Assist with other People projects and initiatives across the People function What you bring A good sense of humour and the desire to work with a friendly, down‑to‑earth team Strong knowledge of Modern Award stipulations and wage‑rate rules (ideally across the surveying, construction, land development or infrastructure sectors) A warm, engaging style and the ability to build deep partnering relationships A fast, pragmatic and nimble approach Proven experience overseeing an accurate and timely payroll function Previous experience with Access Definitiv payroll (preferred but not essential) What we can offer you We can offer competitive remuneration, flexibility and opportunities for professional development in an exciting time of growth and expansion.
