The Opportunity As the Construction Materials Buyer, you will play a vital role in ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. You will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, purchasing, and coordinating all construction materials required across our operations. This position is crucial to project efficiency and profitability. Procurement & Sourcing Identify, assess and select suppliers. Conduct market research and obtain competitive pricing. Negotiation & Contracting Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules. Secure favourable supplier agreements to support cost savings. Cost Management Manage procurement budgets and track expenditure. Implement cost-effective purchasing strategies. Supplier & Risk Management Build strong relationships with suppliers. Evaluate risks and monitor supplier performance. Quality & Compliance Ensure all materials meet Doolee standards and project specifications. Work with site teams to resolve any quality or supply issues. Logistics & Delivery Coordination Arrange transportation and deliveries to job sites. Monitor lead times to avoid project delays. Administration & Reporting Maintain accurate purchasing records and databases. Manage contracts, purchase orders, and tracking documentation. About You Strong negotiation and communication skills Solid understanding of construction materials and suppliers Experience in procurement or purchasing (construction industry) Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills Ability to manage budgets and control costs Strong relationship-building skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Why Join Doolee Construction?
