Teacher Special Education - Mount Druitt Public School Mount Druitt Public School is located in Western Sydney and is part of the Blacktown Local Government Area. It has a current student enrolment of 635. FOEI is currently at 127, an increase of 5 over the last two years. Students come from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds with 5% of students identifying as Aboriginal and 80% from English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EALD). Mount Druitt Public School has five support classes including an Early Intervention Unit and four Multi Categorical classes with a focus on inclusion and challenging students to reach their full potential. Selection Criteria Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with complex needs such as autism, moderate intellectual disabilities and complex behaviours. Experience in designing, implementing and monitoring personalised learning and support plans to meet the learning and wellbeing needs of students to promote growth and engagement. Capacity to effectively communicate across stakeholders including school staff, parents and carers and external agencies, to build respectful relationships and enhance a culture of inclusivity. Evidence of implementing strong classroom management strategies and wellbeing programs with a proven ability to develop a positive learning environment that promotes student success. Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
