Teacher Special Education - Glenwood Public School Glenwood Public School is a small, culturally diverse school located in South Western Sydney, serving approximately 219 students from over 20 nationalities. 7.7% identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and 61% come from households where a language other than English is spoken. The school currently offers nine mainstream classes, supported by a dedicated team of both early and experienced teachers, and will introduce three special education Autism support classes in 2026. The school's leadership team includes a Principal, an above-establishment Deputy Principal, an Assistant Principal specialising in Curriculum and Instruction, and an Assistant Principal. Glenwood Public School benefits from a growing Parents and Citizens Federation that serves as a strong voice and active partner for the broader community. Position Information Two classroom teacher positions are available. Applicants are required to have an unconditional full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education or commence the application process at the time of applying. Details of WWCC clearance number should be included in the application. Selection Criteria Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with Autism and behavioural difficulties and other complex support and learning needs. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to collaborate and work as a member of the support unit team, engaging with school learning support officers, parents, carers, teachers, external agencies, and the wider community. Evidence of outstanding flexible classroom behaviour management and adaptive strategies which enhance student engagement and the development of social skills, including the use of early intervention techniques. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work as part of a variety of teams across the school to improve student outcomes. Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
