Following the retirement of our bookkeeper after over 10 years of service, OTI Racing seeks a highly competent individual to join our team in our Melbourne (Docklands) office. The role is ideal for an experienced bookkeeper or graduate accountant looking to expand their expertise in a dynamic and unique environment within the horse racing industry. You will be responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of our multi-currency company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and meticulous attention to detail across various accounting functions. A key aspect of this role includes managing cost and prize money allocations among horse ownership groups, requiring strong analytical skills and accuracy. Key Responsibilities: Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including timely invoice processing and reconciliations. Split and allocate the costs and prize money of racehorses between various owners with accuracy and transparency. Oversee multi-currency transactions and assist with foreign exchange, taxation and bank reconciliations. Maintain accurate financial records and support month-end reporting. Support to the external Accountant with annual tax returns. Coordinate superannuation and ATO payments. Liaise with internal stakeholders and external suppliers as needed. Assist with the continuous improvement of financial processes. About You: Experienced Bookkeeper or Graduate Accountant with strong foundational accounting knowledge. High attention to detail and strong organisational skills. Excellent communication skills and professional conduct. Proficiency with accounting software and MS Office (Excel in particular).
