Senior Bookkeeper – Overview You are an experienced and detail‑oriented Bookkeeper looking for a senior role in a dynamic, growing company. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Bookkeeper to join our team in Melbourne. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is passionate about maintaining accurate financial records. You must hold current Australian work authorisation at the time of application. Key Responsibilities Oversee and manage day‑to‑day bookkeeping functions, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, and bank reconciliations. Prepare and lodge BAS, IAS, payroll tax and other statutory financial requirements. Assist in the preparation of management reports. Process end‑of‑month reconciliations and journal entries. Liaise with external accountants. Implement and improve financial processes and internal controls. Demonstrate proficiency in Xero accounting software for all bookkeeping functions. Requirements Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a senior or leadership role. Extensive experience in payroll. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong knowledge of Australian taxation regulations. Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero. Proficiency in payroll software such as Xero and Employment Hero. Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently and within a team. Effective communication skills and ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders. Certification in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related field (e.g., CPA, CA, or equivalent qualification is desirable but not essential). This part‑time position offers flexible working arrangements.
