A Networking Data Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing data communication networks that support an organization’s business needs. This includes creating scalable, secure, and efficient network architectures for LANs, WANs, intranets, and cloud environments . The role ensures that network infrastructure aligns with organizational goals and supports future growth. Key Responsibilities Design and Develop Network Architecture: Create blueprints for data communication networks, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability. Implement and Configure Networks: Deploy and configure routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking hardware/software. Capacity Planning & Performance Analysis: Monitor network traffic, forecast future requirements, and optimize performance. Security Integration: Implement firewalls, VPNs, and other security measures to protect data and comply with security policies. Documentation: Maintain detailed diagrams and documentation of network configurations and architecture. Vendor Management: Collaborate with technology vendors and negotiate service-level agreements. Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity: Develop and maintain plans to ensure operational resilience. Stay Updated: Research emerging technologies and recommend upgrades to improve network efficiency. Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Experience: 5+ years in network design and architecture. Certifications: Cisco CCNP/CCIE, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent. Skills: Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP). Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure). Proficiency in network security principles. Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with network automation tools . Familiarity with SD-WAN and virtualization technologies . Knowledge of compliance standards (ISO, NIST).
