Job Title Planner Details Requisition ID: 8864 Work Type: Ongoing Full Time Location: Melbourne – CBD Date Posted: 3 Dec 2025 About the Role This ongoing position places the Planner at the core of the Planning Group, providing high‑quality advice and service to the Minister for Planning on matters of planning, development and land use. The Planner will assess permit applications, planning scheme amendments, and other statutory requirements and prepare comprehensive reports and correspondence reflecting policy, statutory and political contexts. Responsibilities Deliver statutory planning services on behalf of the Minister for Planning, including assessing planning scheme amendments, permit applications and related statutory requirements, and preparing high‑quality reports and correspondence that reflect policy, statutory and political contexts. Provide accurate, timely planning advice to the Minister, executives, local government and stakeholders, proactively managing approvals and projects to meet required timelines. Build and maintain effective relationships with government agencies, local councils and industry, contributing planning expertise to major projects, government programs and broader organisational priorities. Qualifications and Experience A relevant tertiary qualification in Planning or a related field is required. Demonstrated experience in and/or knowledge of statutory and strategic land use or government infrastructure planning within a metropolitan and/or regional planning context in Victoria.
