Therapeutic Specialist – Bendigo Advertiser Job Overview The Therapeutic Specialist reports to the Principal Practitioner and works with managers and coordinators to deliver clinical and therapeutic services for children, young people, families and carers. The role is based in Maitland, NSW, as part of the Intensive Therapeutic Care (ITC) Program. Key Responsibilities Guide and support carers and staff interactions with children and young people. Conduct assessments, develop therapeutic treatment plans and lead reflective practice. Provide therapeutic services, including family therapy directly to clients as required. Collaborate with program staff and service partners in managing complex cases and practice quality issues. Offer specialist expertise, case consultancy, review and promote reflective and evidence‑based practice. Work closely with the NSW Clinical Services team to deliver evidence‑based outcomes for program clients. Qualifications & Experience Relevant tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work or related discipline. Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values, and current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and families. Current registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (preferred) and a master’s level degree in psychology (preferred). Post‑graduate training in child, adolescent and family clinical practice, family therapy and systemic thinking (strongly preferred). Valid driver’s licence, satisfactory criminal history check, child‑care and NDIS workers screening checks. Benefits Generous salary packaging up to $18,500.
