About the Job MacKillop Family Services is on the lookout for a passionate Therapeutic Specialist to join our Therapeutic Residential Care program. The role is an ongoing part‑time (0.9 EFT) opportunity based in the West Metro region and reports to the Principal Practitioner. You’ll work alongside a dedicated team to create healing relationships, guide therapeutic planning, and help young people reconnect with their families and communities. Help young people reconnect with their families and communities. Deliver therapeutic services within a values‑led organisation. Key Selection Criteria An appropriate tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work or a related discipline is essential. Experience in relevant child, adolescent and family clinical practice, family therapy and systemic thinking is strongly preferred, for example, experience with children in out of home care programs. Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families. Thorough understanding of trauma‑informed care and practice. Other Requirements Valid and current Driver’s License. Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid for by MacKillop). Valid Employee Working with Children Check. Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check (for risk assessed / client facing roles).
