Information Technology Recruitment Consultant & Chief Security Officer at Bridge IT Engineering Lead Data Manager Bridge IT Engineering is seeking a Lead Data Manager for a federal government department with offices in the ACT, NSW, & QLD. The role will drive the design, development and implementation of data governance and management within the department. Contract Details 12 months initial contract with 6 months potential extension Location: ACT, NSW, QLD Australian Citizenship with a baseline security clearance is required Key Duties and Responsibilities Lead the development of data sharing agreements between federal government departments. Lead policy development and reform activities to establish the legal and legislative basis for data sharing. Collaborate with Data and Solution Architects to design scalable and adaptable data transfer and storage solutions that align with evolving business needs. Manage and govern large, sensitive and high value data assets across their lifecycle. Promote best practices in data management, incorporating lessons learned and staying current with emerging technologies. Drive improvements in data management practices and data governance. Develop a data governance framework and support the working group. Work closely with data professionals and business stakeholders to identify process improvements, recommend system enhancements, and apply data governance and quality frameworks. Advocate for shared infrastructure and applications to reduce costs, enhance data flow, and prevent duplication of functionality across teams. Qualifications & Criteria Strong technical expertise and leadership in data environments, with experience in digital transformation initiatives, and preparing for AI. In-depth understanding of data governance principles, including enterprise information management and data protection. Experience in master data management, data migration, and data quality assurance. Ability to bridge business and technical perspectives, working effectively with both IT teams and business stakeholders. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
