Based in Acland, a short drive north-west of Toowoomba NAC has played a key role in the Darling Downs region as an employer and economic contributor since it began operation in October 2002. About the role As NAC continues to grow, we are now seeking an experienced Maintenance Superintendent to join the Maintenance department on a permanent, full-time basis. Working a Monday to Friday roster and reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Superintendent role is responsible for fostering a safe, proactive culture focused on planning, continuous improvement, and efficient, effective maintenance for a large fleet of HME. This role has a key focus on ensuring safety, maintaining compliance, and driving efficiency improvements. What you will do Lead the maintenance team to achieve equipment targets whilst actively identifying and managing potential hazards within the maintenance area of operations Manage contractors to ensure effective and efficient service delivery and compliance with site SHMS and the contractor management plan Lead the maintenance team in actively promoting a safety culture that embeds ownership and proactive hazard management along with compliance with procedures and SHEMs requirements Maintain an up-to-date training needs analysis and ensure training levels within crews and supervisors are current Execute weekly maintenance schedules and contribute to the development of maintenance plans and schedules Develop supervisors by mentoring and providing formal training to enhance their performance Conduct annual position description reviews and performance discussions to provide for employee development, progression and reward To be considered for this opportunity you will bring Proven experience in a similar HME maintenance leadership role within the coal mining industry Relevant nationally recognised trade qualification with significant experience in performing maintenance on all makes of HME, MVs, LVs and ancillary plant fleets Experience in leading & communicating with teams within a mining environment. Including the capacity to motivate, mentor and influence others to a achieve a safe production mindset. Experience in budgeting, financial analysis, cost management and continuous improvement processes. Experience in the use of Electronic Reporting Platforms and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems. Proven ability to deliver to deadlines and ensure maintenance operations are performed in accordance with all relevant Company, Legislative and SHEMS requirements.
