Software Engineer – Quantum Navigation

An exciting career opportunity exists for a Software Engineer to join the team at Phasor Quantum and work on the development of leading-edge quantum navigation technologies. Phasor Quantum develops world-leading quantum technologies for a range of defence and civilian applications, including GPS-denied navigation, surveillance and communication. Based in inner Melbourne, the role will involve working in a multi-disciplinary team alongside industry and academic scientists and engineers. In particular working in between the algorithm and sensor development teams, where your software skills will be used to develop simulation software, application software and mathematical software models. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, innovative, resourceful, and able to work independently. Essential Qualifications, Skills & Experience Bachelor degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field Professional experience in numerical software development Experience in scientific/mathematical modelling Experience in digital signal processing would be highly regarded Experience in machine learning would be highly regarded Experience with interfacing to hardware peripherals would be highly regarded Practical problem-solving ability Excellent English language communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to work autonomously (appropriate supervision and mentoring will be provided) Willingness to travel within Australia Australian citizenship (essential) Applicants must be Australian citizens to meet defence security requirements. An ability to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to at least NV1 level is required.
