An exciting career opportunity exists for an Embedded Software/Electronics Engineer to join the team at Phasor Quantum and work on the development of leading‑edge quantum sensing technologies. Phasor Quantum develops world‑leading quantum technologies for a range of defence and civilian applications, including GPS‑denied navigation, surveillance and communication. Based in inner Melbourne, the role will involve working in a multi‑disciplinary team alongside industry and academic scientists and engineers. Tasks will include developing embedded real‑time software for the latest SoC devices, laboratory and field trial measurements and report writing. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, innovative, resourceful, and able to work independently. Essential Qualifications, Skills & Experience: Bachelor degree in Electronic, Computer Systems or Mechatronics Engineering or related field Professional experience in embedded, real‑time firmware/software development Proficiency in high and low‑level programming languages such as Python, C/C++ Experience with interfacing to hardware peripherals Experience with Linux (highly regarded) Experience in FPGA design (highly regarded) Experience with modern SoC devices (highly regarded) Experience in digital signal processing (highly regarded) Practical problem‑solving ability Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to work autonomously (appropriate supervision and mentoring will be provided) Willingness to travel within Australia Australian citizenship (essential) Applicants must be Australian citizens to meet defence security requirements. An ability to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to at least NV1 level is required.
