About the School Oakleigh Primary School and Kindergarten, celebrating 150 years of education, is located 20 km south‑east of Melbourne in a multicultural community. The school enrols around 450 students across 20 classes, with over 25 nationalities represented and more than 40% of students having English as an Additional Language. The kindergarten accommodates over 100 children and works closely with the primary school. Job Summary We are looking for a 0.8 dynamic and flexible teacher to teach Visual Arts part‑time, sharing the role with a current staff member. The position also includes a classroom teaching component to support learning specialists. Key Responsibilities Directly teach groups of students and individual students. Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of a curriculum area or other curriculum programme within the school. Undertake other classroom teaching‑related and organisational duties as determined by the School Principal. Participate in activities such as parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions. Undertake other non‑teaching supervisory duties. Selection Criteria SC1: Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate literacy and numeracy skills. Experience responding to student learning needs. SC2: Demonstrated experience in planning for and implementing high‑impact teaching strategies and evaluating learning growth. SC3: Demonstrated experience in monitoring and assessing student learning and using data to inform practice. SC4: Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills; establishing collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the broader community. SC5: Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes consistent with department values; ongoing professional learning. Who May Apply Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach or have demonstrated experience in Visual Arts.
