This firm partners with high-growth businesses across Australia and New Zealand and offers a dynamic, professional, and collaborative working environment. About the Role This newly created Accountant role is perfect for someone passionate about finance, investments, and private markets. You’ll support a broad range of finance functions including fund accounting, financial reporting, investor communications, and compliance. Key Responsibilities Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, posting journal entries and managing AP/AR processes Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Assist with fund accounting duties including NAV calculations, capital calls, and distributions Manage bank reconciliations, cash flow forecasting, and expense management Support BAS preparation and lodgement Liaise with Big 4 auditors and external tax advisors Provide financial analysis and support investment acquisitions Assist with regulatory reporting (AFSL compliance and AusIndustry reporting) Work closely with the Investor Relations team to ensure timely and accurate investor reporting Skills and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business CA or CPA qualified (or currently completing) 2+ years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably within funds management, investment firms, or professional services Strong technical accounting knowledge (Australian Accounting Standards) Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with sophisticated investors and stakeholders High attention to detail, analytical mindset, and proactive attitude Exposure to private equity and venture capital investments High-performing, collaborative team culture Career development opportunities within a growing finance team Competitive salary package Location Sydney Seniority level Seniority level Mid-Senior level Employment type Employment type Full-time Job function Job function Accounting/Auditing and Finance Industries Financial Services and Investment Management Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at The Andersen Partnership by 2x Get notified about new Financial Accountant jobs in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia .
