About our client: Our client, an innovative applied R&D company, is looking for a people‑focused Software Development Manager to lead a lean/Kanban team delivering a standardised product that drives real‑world impact across industries. In this stabilising phase, your primary focus will be mentoring, supporting, and enabling the team. You’ll foster a collaborative, high‑performing environment, work closely with offshore developers, and ensure the team thrives while preparing the business for investment and future growth. This is a role where you can mentor your team, shape architecture, and help turn customer needs into real‑world solutions. Fully remote (QLD timezone), this is your chance to lead development that powers meaningful innovation. What you’ll be doing: Leading a small, dedicated software development team using lean and Kanban principles. Managing and mentoring people. Working daily with offshore development teams. Staying hands‑on in the leadership side of delivery. Building strong relationships with customers and keeping their needs at the heart of every decision. Bringing structure and calm. You’ll thrive here if: You’re a natural people leader who listens first and leads by example. You’re experienced with lean/Kanban delivery and enjoy coaching teams to refine their flow. You’re comfortable working with offshore teams. You bring a customer‑first mindset. You appreciate the value of structured processes. Remote work suits your style – you’re organised, self‑driven, and happy to work to Queensland hours. What You Bring: Experience leading software development teams. Strong senior dev background (Azure + Microsoft stack ideal). Solid understanding of architecture, design patterns, secure coding and CI/CD. Ability to review and guide technical designs. Practical Lean/Kanban/flow delivery experience. Calm, fair leadership and excellent communication skills. Experience in SaaS environments and aligning tech roadmaps with business goals.
