Postdoctoral fellowship in multi-omics, systems biology, and cardiometabolic diseases We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic full-time postdoctoral researcher. Candidates should have a background in biology, systems biology, data science, biostatistics, computational biology, or related areas. This is a 2-year Postdoc position with a start date of March 15, 2026, or upon agreement. The successful candidate will join a research group that is focused on investigating the role of dietary and lifestyle factors in cardiometabolic diseases in an interdisciplinary and international research environment. The candidate will primarily work with high-throughput -omics data, including metabolomics, proteomics, microbiome and/or genetics, to be integrated into traditional epidemiological analyses to gain insights into underlying mechanisms that may explain the link between environmental factors in relation to common cardiometabolic disease outcomes, such as type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. The candidate will design new and/or nested studies leveraging complex and big data from existing cohorts and national registries, applying novel machine learning methods. The specific work tasks will include data management of large studies, scientific work related to the topics described above, statistical analysis of data, writing scientific papers, grant writing, and presentation of findings at professional meetings. The postdoctoral research fellow will also be encouraged and mentored to develop new proposals and research initiatives to support additional research. Exchange stays with collaborating research centers will be optional. Over the course of the position, opportunities to teach at either the graduate or undergraduate level exist. The research group, the Guasch group, which the postdoc will join, is part of the Section of Epidemiology (read more here ), Department of Public Health and the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research (CBMR). The postdoc will be able to attend seminars, courses, and use resources at CBMR Profile We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic postdoctoral researcher who, in addition to the desired interests and expertise stated above, has the following skills and qualifications: a Ph.D. (or equivalent) in biology, bioinformatics, data science, computational biology, machine learning, or a related field. experience in conceiving and designing new projects, in line with the department’s research focus. extensive experience analyzing data, interpreting results, and concisely summarizing key messages. a strong computational background and preferably expertise in dealing with large and complex datasets (R, Phyton, or similar). a track record showing scientific productivity in peer-reviewed journals. an active interest in nutrition, lifestyle, metabolomics, proteomics, cardiometabolic diseases, and/or precision health/precision medicine/precision nutrition. possess good interpersonal and communicative skills, fluent in English, both written and spoken, a team player, and “can do” attitude The Department The Department of Public Health’s focus is to improve the health of the population and the connection between health and society. The Postdoc position is a full-time (37 working hours weekly) and fixed-term position for 2 years. Starting date is March15, 2026, or as soon as possible hereafter.
