Shire Of Denmark, Österreich Hs Mittweida Vollzeit

We are seeking an outstanding and highly motivated postdoc to join the Sahu Lab at the Department of Molecular Medicine, University of Southern Denmark (SDU). The position is available from February 1, 2026 (or as soon as possible thereafter) for 12 months initially, with the possibility of extension up to three years based on performance. The successful candidate will investigate gene regulatory networks driving aging and inflammation using cutting‑edge molecular and genomic technologies. The project integrates single‑cell and spatial transcriptomics, epigenome and whole‑genome sequencing, and genome‑wide CRISPR functional screening in both mouse models and clinical samples. Working closely with computational biologists and clinicians, this interdisciplinary project offers an exceptional opportunity to unravel how gene regulatory mechanisms govern cellular aging and inflammatory responses, and how their disruption contributes to age‑associated diseases such as fibrosis. Responsibilities Lead independent research on gene regulatory and epigenetic mechanisms underlying aging and inflammation Design, perform, and analyze molecular and cellular experiments in both in‑vitro and in‑vivo models Develop and optimize advanced protocols (e.g., single‑cell assays, CRISPR‑based screens) Collaborate with an interdisciplinary network of computational biologists, clinicians, and international research partners Supervise and mentor students and junior researchers within the group Contribute to scientific publications, conference presentations, and grant proposals Required qualifications Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Genomics, Cell Biology, or a related discipline At least one first‑author publication in a peer‑reviewed international journal Proven experience in molecular biology (e.g., ChIP, CUT&RUN, cloning) and cell culture Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills High level of motivation, creativity, and ability to work in a collaborative and multidisciplinary team Preferred qualifications Experience working with mouse models of disease or aging Familiarity with iPSC‑derived systems or organoid culture Expertise in functional genomic perturbations (e.g., CRISPR‑Cas9) Hands‑on experience in single‑cell or spatial omics technologies Interest in translational research and mechanisms of cellular resilience in aging and inflammation Sahu Lab Dr. Sanjeeb Kumar Sahu (principal investigator) is a D‑IAS Assistant Professor and Novo Nordisk Foundation Group Leader at the Genome Biology Research Unit, Department of Molecular Medicine, SDU. The Sahu lab integrates mouse genetics, single‑cell multi‑omics, and CRISPR Cas9‑based functional genomics with computational biology to uncover the molecular logic of cellular resilience and dysfunction during aging. The lab benefits from strong national and international collaborations and access to world‑class infrastructure. Lab website: Department of Molecular Medicine (IMM) The Department of Molecular Medicine at SDU conducts pioneering research on human biology and disease mechanisms, aiming to translate fundamental discoveries into improved human health. IMM hosts a dynamic and interdisciplinary research community encompassing neurobiology, cancer biology, genomics, proteomics, and chromatin biology, offering a vibrant and collaborative scientific environment with close ties to clinical research. What We Offer Opportunity to conduct high‑impact, multidisciplinary research at the forefront of aging and disease biology Access to state‑of‑the‑art core facilities in genomics, imaging, proteomics, and bioinformatics A stimulating, inclusive, and international research environment with structured mentoring and career development support Competitive salary and social benefits according to the collective agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) Comprehensive support for relocation, visa, housing, and tax matters through SDU's International Staff Office Contact Information For further details about the position, please contact Dr. Sanjeeb Kumar Sahu at Application deadline November 30, 2025, at 23:59 hrs. CET Salary The successful applicant will be employed in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).
