Therapy Radiographer The closing date is 16 November 2025 The Radiotherapy Department currently has opportunities for Band 5 Radiographers, ideal for anyone wishing to develop both personally and professionally in a busy and forward‑thinking Department. We have a fully electronic patient record system that is improving health‑care quality, transforming services and improving patient safety and clinical outcomes. We currently have two Radixact Tomotherapy units and 4 Varians, 2 with dedicated SRS platforms and 2 with Align RT. We also offer Gynae HDR and superficial treatments. We are currently having a 3rd TrueBeam Varian Linac with Align RT and a 3rd Radixact installed, both to be clinical by Summer 2026. All are interfaced with Mosaiq in a paperless environment. The pre‑treatment section comprises of two Canon wide‑bore CT scanners and our Physics department uses Raystation treatment planning system. You will rotate through treatment and pre‑treatment areas. Main duties of the job To work within a team of Radiographers to provide accurate and safe planning and delivery of radiotherapy treatment. To work as a member of the Multi‑disciplinary Team (MDT) in the total care of patients undergoing radiotherapy treatment. To give support and advice to patients and their carers throughout the course of radiotherapy treatment. To ensure the highest standard of care is provided at all times within the resources available. You must be HCPC registered, possess a BSc (Hons) in Radiotherapy or equivalent and be fully flexible with shift requirements. Due to the variable nature of the work, you will be required to cover early and late shifts and possible weekend shifts and on‑call as appropriate. If you are an international applicant who achieved your qualification in a country that is not on the HCPC list of qualifying countries, then you must provide evidence of English language proficiency at IELTS level 7 or higher. Hons degree in Therapeutic Radiography or equivalent Health and Care Professions Council registration IELTS Level 7 (for those applying internationally) Previous Healthcare work Experience Knowledge Knowledge of principles and practice of radiotherapy and oncology Knowledge of principles of Radiotherapy Planning Working knowledge of Windows programmes Knowledge of and use of different information sources Knowledge and application of national regulations relating to ionising radiation for medical exposure (IR(ME)R) Knowledge and application of regulations related to obtaining informed consent Good awareness of the different Treatment Regimes Skills Computer literate with experience of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint Able to work autonomously and as part of a team Able to prioritise and schedule tasks Planning and organisational skills Ability to synthesise information, consider and evaluate risks and options when making difficult decisions Ability to make recommendations for change Additional Requirements The ability to understand and behave at all times, towards patients, visitors and colleagues according to the Trust values of Safe, Kind, Excellent.
