Mulgrave Dental Group is a newly renovated 5 chair modern dental clinic implementing Larkin (biofilm protocol) and guided biofilm therapy with EMS airflow. We are located in Mulgrave in South East Melbourne about 10 mins from the Chadstone Shopping Centre. We currently have a team of four dentists and 3 hygienists and we perform a wide range of dental treatments including CEREC, implants, orthodontics (braces and aligners), pediatric dentistry, cosmetic dentistry and smile makeovers. We are seeking an Oral health therapist /hygienist that is able to be provide perio and ortho centric support to our dentists and provide high quality care to our patients. The role is two days a week initially (ideally Wednesdays/Tuesdays and Thursdays) to build to a full time role in the future. We don't rush our patients. Our hygiene appointments are at least 1 hr. We will provide the candidates full support on learning how to sample biofilm and using EMS airflow and patient communication. We have a well established hygiene department and we are only one of 30 practices in Australia performing biofilm sampling. You will have mentoring and support from our existing hygienist, dentist as well as a hygiene coach. We have a fantastic team culture that is learning and supporting each other everyday. About the role You will be an integral part of the clinical team who would be supporting dentists to manage our perio patients perform in chair whitening, manage biofilm samples with our microscope, focus on pediatric patients, orthodontic adjustments, implant and periodontal maintenance, hygiene therapy and support the treatment plans presented. Responsibilities Radiographs, bitewings, OPG, Lat Ceph Fissure seals Oral health management and maintenance Building trust and rapport with patients, children and parents Efficient communication with the dentists, patients and the team Perio charting and gum treatment Assisting with orthodontics Fit retainers Biofilm samples The position will suit someone who is enthusiastic, reliable, holds high ethical values and enjoys working in a team environment. Skills and experience Qualification as a dental hygienist/therapist (new grads welcome to apply mentoring and support will be provided) Punctuality and reliability Positive attitude and mindset Be well presented and professional Team player Well organized and has the ability to multi task Willing to grow and learn and take feedback well Holds AHPRA registration and indemnity insurance Prime practice skills (preferred but no essential) Your application will include the following questions: Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in Australia?
