Forum Engineers is a diverse, well-established Newcastle based engineering consultancy firm with a collaborative and supportive team culture where all team members are valued individually. Forum is currently seeking a Structural Engineer possessing in the order of 3+ years’ experience in the structural engineering design of residential, industrial, commercial and/or government projects within Australia, to become part of our team. Forum provide engineering services for a wide range of projects across, residential, industrial, commercial and government sectors including: Project homes Multi-storey units Architecturally designed homes Industrial warehouses Clubs and pubs Government and education infrastructure Forensic investigations and reports Temporary engineering works Engineering inspections and reports This role involves: Performing engineering design and preparing documentation for residential, industrial, commercial and/or government structures, varying in size and complexity. Performing site inspections and preparing documentation. Performing engineering investigations and preparing documentation. Working closely with peers and providing support to other engineers and drafting personnel within the organisation, among other tasks. You will be well suited to this role if you have: A strong team focus and a desire to work collaboratively with peers to facilitate professional development and grow engineering skills and knowledge. A Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (MIEAust desirable but not essential). In the order of 3+ years of professional engineering design experience within Australia. Experience in the engineering design of structures in Australia incorporating steel, concrete and timber elements. An understanding of the use and application of the National Construction Code and Australian Standards. Good analytical skills to develop effective and innovative solutions. Current driver's licence and Construction Induction Card (White Card). Experience in carrying out technical inspections and preparing documentation would be beneficial but not essential. Experience with use of computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Auto CAD, (Inducta, SPACE GASS – would be an advantage but not essential).
