Gis Analyst

Access to Fitness Passport – discounted gym memberships A supportive and inclusive work culture Based in Alexandria Opportunities for professional development and career progression Wellness that works for you From annual skin checks and flu shots to our bi-annual health fair, we’re committed to helping you stay healthy In this role you will: Deliver high quality mapping outputs, spatial analysis, and geospatial advice to internal teams Provide technical and administrative support for the automated s10.7 planning certificate Maintain and update Council’s Property Information System (PIS) Analyse development applications and allocate street numbering for new developments in accordance with addressing guidelines and spatial accuracy requirements Manage and maintain spatial datasets, metadata and geodatabases Produce maps, spatial layers, dashboards and visualisation for planning and operational, and strategic projects. Respond to internal GIS requests and provide general GIS advice and support across Council About You Tertiary qualifications in Geographical information systems, Cartography, Spatial Information Science or experience operating in a similar role in other organisations. Demonstrated, extensive knowledge and experience using GIS software (such as Mapinfo). Demonstrated, extensive knowledge and experience with Property Information Systems (such as Pathway). Demonstrated ability to analyse technical problems and identify and implement appropriate solutions. A positive, professional and co-operative approach to working with others. Demonstrated ability to work independently to achieve organisational objectives. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience developing technical manuals, procedures, process mapping and providing user training. Experience with automating GIS tasks using FME or python An understanding of legislation and systems in New South Wales for land development and cadastre management including the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act New South Wales 1979, Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulations New South Wales 1921, Land titles and New South Wales Geographical Names Board policy and guidelines is desirable About us Between the city and the sea, Waverley is a vibrant, welcoming, and inspiring place to live, work and play with its diverse population, creative culture, enriching lifestyle, stunning natural features, and distinctive neighbourhoods.
