About the role :
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Global Markets Business Manager to lead, develop and drive the operational, regulatory and system effectiveness of the Foreign Exchange & Interest Rate Derivative Global Markets Sales and Trading business and its support functions.
As the Global Markets Business Manager, you will co-ordinate the duties of junior staff, providing guidance and oversight on matters of compliance and business management.You will be responsible for obtaining and allocating budget for systems and equipment for the department and organising short- and medium-term plans that match the growth aspirations of the Global Markets department. This includes bringing to market new products to match client needs, ensuring that all documentation and approvals are obtained and that trading platforms are fix for purpose. The role reports to the Managing Director Global Markets.
What you'll be doing :
Operational Excellence: Streamline and optimize operational processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in Global Market operations while maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations. Identify areas for improvement and implement best practices to enhance productivity, costeffectiveness and customer satisfaction.New Product Approvals: Lead and manage the end to end roll out of new products for Global Markets including gaining approvals both locally and regionally, writing of procedure manuals and marketing material, training of front office staff, testing and liaison with other departments within the Bank to bring the projects to completion.Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks and challenges associated with Global Market operations. Develop risk mitigation strategies and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies across all products. Stay updated on global market changes and proactively adjust strategies and operations accordingly. Act as 1LOD (1st line of defence) function for Sales and Trading sales activity & identify risks within with the business to ensure appropriate preventative and detective controls are in place.Strategy Development: Together with the Heads of Sales Trading conduct thorough market analysis to identify growth opportunities, market trends, and competitive positioning, while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Collaborate with sales teams, identify potential clients, and establish strategic partnerships to drive revenue growth and market penetration,Crossfunctional Collaboration: Work closely with various internal teams such as sales, marketing, finance, legal, and compliance to align strategies, share market insights, and facilitate seamless execution of global initiatives. Foster a collaborative environment to drive crossfunctional teamwork and knowledge sharing.Performance Monitoring: Monitor the performance of global market sales and trading plus operations. Regularly assess and report on market trends, sales performance, and profitability. Monitor performance and provide regular feedback to support professional development and promote a highperformance culture.Relationship Management: Act as focal point for internal and external stakeholders for all matters related to business management for Global Markets. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including internal partners, external parties and clients.Business Continuity Management and
General Administrative Matter:
Manage the Disaster Recovery process including system testing & back up plans in coordination with other internal departments and external vendors.Budget Allocation to ensure the business has access to relevant systems and appropriate training for all staff.
