About the Company Our client is a fund manager headquartered in Sydney, with a strong focus on private markets. They have an excellent reputation for staff development and are in the midst of a period of growth. About the Role The Head of Distribution will be responsible for driving the firm’s distribution and capital‑raising strategy across all channels, with a strong emphasis on wholesale client networks. This includes building and deepening relationships with family office groups, private wealth managers, and other key intermediaries to expand market reach and deliver sustainable growth. Job Responsibilities Distribution Strategy and Leadership Design and implement a national distribution strategy that aligns with the firm’s overarching objectives and growth ambitions. Provide leadership to the distribution team by setting clear performance standards, offering guidance, and fostering capability development across the function. Establish and monitor sales targets, KPIs, and reporting structures to ensure transparency and accountability in all distribution activities. Cultivate a high‑performing, client‑focused culture within the distribution team. Client and Intermediary Relationship Management Develop, maintain, and grow strong relationships with key intermediaries, including financial advisers, dealer groups, private wealth firms, asset consultants, platforms, and institutional investors. Serve as the senior relationship lead for high‑value clients and strategic partners. Ensure the team consistently delivers exceptional service, prompt responses, and proactive engagement with advisers and clients. Market Positioning and Growth Enhance value propositions, refine product positioning, and optimise go‑to‑market strategies. Analyse emerging trends, competitor activity, client needs, and identify new distribution opportunities. Lead initiatives to expand market reach and boost brand visibility across key channels. Governance, Compliance and Risk Management Ensure all distribution activities comply with AFSL regulatory requirements, including responsible marketing, accurate client disclosures, and appropriate adviser interactions. Maintain robust oversight of conduct risk, brand reputation risk, and potential conflicts of interest. Promote ethical selling practices and consistently uphold the firm’s core values. Job Requirements 10+ years’ experience in funds management distribution, wealth management, or broader financial services. Proven track record in leading and scaling high‑performing distribution teams. Comprehensive knowledge of the Australian advice landscape, intermediated channels, and platform ecosystem. Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated success in driving FUM growth. Exceptional ability to build and maintain relationships with advisers, institutions, dealer groups, and consultants. Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the capability to influence senior stakeholders. High integrity, sound judgment, and a commitment to fostering a strong cultural leadership.
