About the role We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our team on a casual basis with opportunity to move to permanent employment in due course. This is a fantastic opportunity for a law student in their 3rd year or above, being exposed to and obtaining ‘hands on’ experience in all aspects of workplace law. Assisting in key matters including termination of employment, discrimination, bullying, sexual harassment, work health and safety, amongst others Assisting in matters that the firm has been engaged to representing clients in litigation proceedings relating to matters ranging from post employment restraints, general protections, unfair dismissal, underpaid wage claims amongst others Assisting in matters that the firm representing clients in disputes with regulators in relation to issues such as underpaid wage claims through to work health and safety investigations and incidents Supporting lawyers with legal research and case preparation Drafting correspondence and legal documentation File and matter management Reviewing and summarising evidence, case law, and legislation Preparing briefs to counsel and court documents Assisting with client communication Contributing to and participating in team development Benefits The opportunity to form part of an award winning workplace relations team, with a widely recognised, positive team culture whilst living in an enviable location Contribute to a rapidly expanding practice with exposure to a full spectrum of interesting and varied work Access to excellent learning, mentoring and development initiatives, including a focus on personal development and close working relationship with the Principal, Special Counsel and other lawyers A team that is genuinely excited about working collaboratively with clients to find solutions in a complex regulatory environment, applying both first‑rate technical knowledge with practical client‑focused thinking About you We’re looking for someone who is currently in at least their 3rd year of a law degree, are passionate about workplace relations and you are looking for your next challenge. You will need to be conscientious, have the highest standards of professional conduct and want to continuously improve on everything you do. A strong attention to detail, excellent analytical and drafting skills, a critical and inquisitive mind, and strong communication skills are highly valued.
