Connecting Lawyers with Opportunities in Financial Services & Real Estate - Senior Consultant @ Beacon Legal Beacon Legal have partnered with a leading Australian financial services group in their search for a new Technology & Commercial Lawyer . They are looking to hire someone at the 3+ PQE level, to be based in their Sydney office. We’re seeking a proactive and motivated technology and commercial lawyer to support a dynamic and innovative central Commercial Legal team. This role offers the opportunity to work across cutting-edge technology, data, outsourcing and commercial contracting matters , supporting multiple business units across a large, complex and global organisation. This role will give you the chance to engage in fast‑paced innovative projects and impactful work with constant opportunities for professional growth. You will become part of a high‑performing, supportive and forward‑thinking team and be able to contribute to an exciting and rapidly evolving technology landscape. About the Role Review, draft and negotiate a broad range of technology and commercial contracts, including SaaS, cloud services, software licensing and regulated outsourcing arrangements. Provide strategic legal advice on technology initiatives and commercial projects across multiple business units. Advise on data, privacy, fraud and cyber security obligations. Contribute to governance, risk management and prudential compliance matters. Engage with internal stakeholders on emerging technologies, including natural language systems and generative AI. Manage external counsel where required and support continuous process improvement. What type of person will be successful? Admitted as a lawyer in Australia. Practising as a technology / commercial lawyer for 3+ years , in private practice or in‑house. Strong drafting, negotiation and stakeholder management skills. Collaborative, adaptable, and commercially minded. Experience within financial services is valued, but relevant experience in other sectors will also be considered.
