Sexual Offence Examiner - Cumbria - 36 hours Salary: £43,005.07 FTE Based on 40 hours per week (£20.62 per hour) Full Time: 36 hours per week, Monday to Sunday, 12 hour shifts between 09:00am – 21:00pm, rota basis covering 24/7, 365 days per year. Rota every 6 weeks with 3 request days a month. Main duties Key responsibilities include: Forensic examinations and obtaining forensic exhibits Develop forensic strategies according to FFLM guidelines Actively work in partnership with external MDTs and Police First point of contact for victims, Police and Social Services to discuss referral pathways Manage and promote the self‑referral pathway Undertake holistic assessments including sexual health, mental health, and safeguarding Support the continued quality improvement of the service Work under the Forensic Science Regulator requirements Obtain consent for health and forensic procedures Produce individual management plans Qualifications and experience Qualified Registered Nurse, Midwife, or Paramedic Minimum of 3 years post‑qualification experience Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children and adults Knowledge and understanding of confidentiality Experience of autonomous working Phlebotomy skills UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (travel across SARCs may be required) Advanced DBS and Level 2 Police vetting Female applicants only due to genuine occupational qualification under the Sex Discrimination Act (Section 7(2)b and 7(2)e) Benefits Enhanced sickness pay scheme Enhanced maternity and neonatal/adoption pay after 1 year’s service Well‑being programme Advanced rota planning for better work‑life balance 6 weeks annual leave Pension scheme Life assurance Apprenticeships Employee assistant programme Long‑service/Team of the Month awards Accredited and CPD training courses and masterclasses Funding for higher education courses after one year’s service About the employer Mountain Healthcare is a leading clinical forensic healthcare provider, offering Sexual Assault Referral Centres, Police Custodial Healthcare, Secure Estate Healthcare, and clinical telephone advice.
