We are now seeking a Senior Data & Analytics Consultant with strong hands‑on experience in Databricks and/or Microsoft Fabric , combined with the consulting capability to lead delivery, shape solutions, and engage effectively with senior business stakeholders. This role is ideal for an experienced data professional who is ready to step into a client‑facing, solution‑driven consulting role with ownership of delivery outcomes and the opportunity to influence strategy and architecture. About the Role As a Senior Data & Analytics Consultant, you will lead key workstreams within modern data platform, analytics, and engineering engagements. You’ll work directly with business and technical stakeholders to understand their needs, define solutions, and deliver high‑quality data products across Databricks, Fabric, and Azure. You will shape data strategies, design modern data architectures, drive best practices, and mentor junior team members—all while ensuring client outcomes are met with high quality and professionalism. Key Responsibilities Lead the design of modern data solutions using Databricks , Microsoft Fabric , and Azure analytics services. Architect ingestion, transformation, and modelling layers aligned to best practices in ELT, medallion architecture, and scalable cloud design. Translate business problems into technical designs, working alongside architects and client stakeholders. Develop high-quality pipelines and transformations using PySpark, SQL, Databricks notebooks, Fabric Data Engineering , and Azure Data Factory. Build robust data models and refined layers suitable for analytics, finance reporting, operational dashboards, and predictive use cases. Apply mature engineering practices including CI/CD, testing frameworks, version control, and development standards. Contribute to advisory work including AI readiness assessments, data platform modernisation strategies, and roadmap development. Support Power BI enablement and data product preparation where required. Facilitate workshops and discovery sessions with technical, business, and executive stakeholders. Communicate complex technical concepts in business-friendly language. Provide guidance, recommendations, and insights to drive client decision-making. Lead delivery of end-to-end workstreams with accountability for outcomes, timelines, and quality. Mentor mid-level and junior consultants to uplift capability within the team. Prepare clear documentation, solution outlines, architectural notes, and handover materials. About You You are an experienced data consultant (or a senior engineer ready to step up) who can combine strong hands‑on delivery with strategic thinking and excellent client engagement. You will bring 5–8+ years’ experience in data engineering, analytics delivery, or data platform consulting. Strong capability in Databricks and/or Microsoft Fabric , including PySpark, SQL, notebooks, orchestration, and performance optimisation. Strong understanding of Dimensional Modelling , ELT patterns, medallion architecture, and modern data warehousing. Experience designing or delivering cloud data platforms on Azure . Confident stakeholder engagement skills, including workshops, presentations, and solution walkthroughs. Ability to work independently, guide others, and take ownership of client outcomes. Nice to Have Experience with SAP, enterprise ERP data structures, or large‑scale migration projects. Power BI capability (data models, DAX, dashboard design). Prior consulting or professional services experience. Requirements Must have full Australian working rights. Availability to commence within 2–4 weeks (preferred but flexible).
