Geotechnical Engineer – Tailings & Mine Waste Location: Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Salary: A$100, – A$130, per annum. As part of our Geotechnical Engineering team you will: Assist with geotechnical field investigations and construction monitoring for mine waste management facilities and related infrastructure. This includes learning analysis and design. Support field programmes such as drilling, testing and sampling; assist with field mapping and coordination. Help with desktop assessments, data collection, interpretation, and reporting. Learn and apply geotechnical modelling tools such as Slope / W, Seep / W, Muk3D, and in-house methods – training provided. Contribute to engineering deliverables such as reports, drawings, specifications, presentations and quantity estimates. Provide general project support, including coordination and client-related tasks under supervision. Work in accordance with KCB's Quality Management System and Health and Safety Guidelines. Collaborate with other KCB offices in Australia and internationally as project needs arise. Attributes & Qualifications Bachelor of Engineering (Civil). 2–5 years' experience in Geotechnical Engineering, preferably within Tailings and Mine Waste. Knowledge of soil, rock mechanics and foundation engineering. Ability to perform site investigations, soil sampling and laboratory testing. Familiarity with geotechnical software such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, SLOPE / W. Competence in data analysis and report writing.
