About The Role The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the timely delivery of accurate, complete, and compliant financial reporting processes for Allianz Australia (AAL) and its operations and assist in the coordination of external audits. Deliver the timely delivery of complete and accurate financial reporting (statutory financial statements, regulatory reporting, government agency returns, internal and group reporting), including month/quarter end close processes for Allianz’s operations and subsidiaries, analysing and challenging information to ensure figures are clearly understood and supported. Play a key role in discussions with stakeholders in Finance, the business, and Allianz Group centres, resolving issues and supporting other team members in the close process. Maintain and manage reporting areas or functions such as Allianz Australia, New Zealand Branch, and/or Allianz Life and related corporate entities, underwriting agency results, and reporting to government bodies (e.g., iCare, Insurance for NSW, Statutory returns, Workers Compensation) and group reporting functions under IFRS, Solvency II and other applicable requirements. Identify current and upcoming changes to accounting standards, APRA prudential and reporting standards and actively participate in projects to respond to regulatory and accounting changes. Participate in capital base projections for annual capital planning and calculation processes to ensure accurate capital measures are appropriately estimated. Implement and maintain an appropriate control framework to ensure complete, accurate and timely reporting, proactively improving month‑end processes and controls through risk recognition and mitigation. Review and oversee external and group reporting outputs delivered by Accounting and Reporting Hub. Establish strong working relationships within and outside Finance, acting as a ‘go‑to person’ for areas of responsibility, understanding business strategies and drivers, and supporting the team in developing these networks. Deliver financial reporting processes, including full analysis of figures, preparation of Board and Audit Committee papers, and assist in coordinating and facilitating requests from the external auditor. Assist with ad hoc projects – e.g., implementation of new accounting standards or policies, review of strategic initiatives proposals, acquisitions/divestments. Support the annual planning process for Allianz’s subsidiaries and collaborate with stakeholders to understand strategies and business drivers. Please note this is a 6‑month Fixed Term Contract opportunity. About You Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline with relevant accreditations such as Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Experience in insurance or financial services in a financial accounting, statutory or regulatory reporting role. Experience with SAP, Table Manager 1 (TM1), CDM reporting, APRA D2A, APRA Connect, and strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, to build and maintain strong business relationships in a team‑based environment. Strong time‑management and organisation skills, with the ability to multi‑task and prioritise work. A positive, proactive, and resilient attitude to embrace change and innovation.
