As a key member of the Senior Leadership Group, participating in organisational strategy setting, business planning and monitoring processes to assist the organisation achieve its corporate and strategic objectives. Providing effective leadership and management of the Finance, Investments, Tax, and Insurance, Policy and Risk and Compliance teams. Provide secretarial services to the Board and its committees. An exciting opportunity exists for a finance professional and people leader to lead the Public Trustee's delivery of service in the areas of accounting, finance, investment, client tax return preparation, risk & compliance, and management of corporate assets. You will also provide leadership and management to the Finance, Investments / Insurance / Taxation and Risk & Compliance teams. Hours per fortnight Hours per fortnight – flexible options available. Major Functions Provide high level, strategic and specialist advice on complex financial and investment issues to the Chief Executive Officer, members of the Senior Leadership Group and where appropriate, the Board. Lead, manage and develop the Finance, Investments, tax and insurance, Policy and Risk and Compliance business units to ensure comprehensive, strategic, efficient and effective financial and investment services to the organisation. Participate as a member of the organisation's Senior Leadership Team, contributing to the strategic planning, and risk management processes and outcomes, and provide advice and recommendations on matters affecting the organisation. Provide direction on the development, implementation and review of policies, practices and procedures within areas of responsibility, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and Treasurer's Instructions. Ensure the timely preparation of the Public Trustee's annual budget, financial statements and reporting in accordance with Government Business Guidelines including reporting to Government as required. Oversee the day‑to‑day delivery of the financial services of the Public Trustee. Including oversight of the management of the investment of funds under management of the Public Trustee in its own capacity and as trustee, in accordance with policy, as well as taxation services of the Public Trustee. Designated contact regarding the procurement and administration processes for acquiring, maintaining and disposal of Public Trustee motor vehicles in accordance with Treasurer's Instructions. Provide secretarial services to the Board, Investment, and Audit and Risk Committees. The incumbent may also be assigned other duties consistent with the assigned classification and in accordance with the skills, competence and training of the occupant. Disciplinary action in previous employment. Completion of a graduate degree in a relevant field. Eligibility for membership of the Australian Society of Certified Practicing Accountants, Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand (CA ANZ) or equivalent.
