Group Sourcing and Procurement Manager

Our client is the largest snack food producer in Papua New Guinea with over 960 employees serving a country with over 10.8 million people. With 90 years of operation and 100% PNG owned, it grew from the original Arnotts biscuit factory network in Port Moresby and Lae to an iconic brand that extends to ice cream, chocolate and bottled water production facilities, drawing innovative, experienced and qualified technical talent from around the world. Based in Port Moresby or Lae as the Group Sourcing and Procurement Manager, and as a key member of the Executive Leadership team at Paradise Foods , you will report to the CEO and play a strategic leadership role in managing the procurement and sourcing function across five sites on the mainland and surrounding islands. Your mandate will include building a high‑performing team, driving cost‑reduction opportunities, and developing a continuous improvement program and ecosystems that bring together multiple parties to solve common problems and achieve world‑class performance in strategic procurement and sourcing activities. The role covers direct and indirect spend, including but not limited to engineering and office spend, and requires strong collaboration with R&D and Technical functions to source new raw materials, facilitate product innovation and secure competitive advantage. Experience in the food production industry is important, but a deeper understanding of manufacturing challenges on raw material specifications and performance is critical. Experience managing purchased logistics services and a specialist approach to the unique challenges faced by the business in bringing product to customers across a geographic, weather and infrastructure‑constrained environment are also essential. Contributing to an accurate and reliable monthly forecasting plan required by manufacturing – driving a reliable, robust monthly Sales and Operational Planning Cycle – is of equal importance. To be considered for this role you must possess tertiary qualifications in Procurement and Strategic Sourcing, contract negotiations and supplier reviews. Preferably you will have post‑graduate qualifications in a related field, CPIM or CSCP certificates, and a minimum of 10 years of senior executive experience with a proven track record of high performance in an FMCG or food‑related business. You should be an excellent communicator, act with the highest integrity and standards, and genuinely embrace operating in a unique and privileged environment and culture. What We Offer Competitive salary up to AUD $260k (superannuation voluntary up to 15%). T&C circa AU$320k +. Significant monthly contribution to accommodation and all services/club membership.
