Specialist in Greenhouse Gases and Climate Change Katestone’s team is growing, and we are looking for a Principal consultant in Greenhouse Gases and Climate Change. Katestone’s work is diverse, and you'll have the opportunity to showcase and develop your experience in one of Australia’s leading specialty environmental consultancies. You will be a seasoned specialist in greenhouse gas assessment and abatement and/or climate risk assessment with relevant qualifications (Degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Science). You are an experienced project manager and understand the critical components of robust and reliable assessments and the development of management and mitigation strategies. You understand greenhouse gases and their sources in residential, industrial, commercial, and agricultural settings. You understand greenhouse gas assessment processes and the requirements of NGER and Safeguards mechanism reporting. You also understand or are able to identify best practice and emerging technologies and processes for GHG abatement. You have the skills and experience to lead and develop within the Katestone’s consulting business. You understand the drivers of weather and climate change and the implications for Australia’s residential, industrial, commercial, and agricultural sectors. You can evaluate hazards, vulnerability, and risk due to weather extremes and climate change for our clients and develop appropriate mitigation or adaptation options. You may also understand and be able to contribute to risk reporting frameworks such as the Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosures. You have the skills and experience to lead and develop within the Katestone’s consulting business. The following experience and attributes will be regarded highly in the role: Knowledge of legislation and Government policies/strategies related to GHG measurement and mitigation, and/or climate risk assessment and management Achievement in approvals, operations, management, mitigation and control related to GHG and/or climate Demonstrated experience undertaking NGER calculations and reporting Demonstrated experience in climate risk assessment and mitigation Experienced in client liaison and project management A passion for high-quality outcomes, client service and relationships Existing relationships relevant to success in this role are highly regarded Track record in developing winning proposals High level of skill in verbal and written communication The ability to mentor other members of the team by building their technical, project management and client management skills.
