We guarantee you won’t be bored with us About CARE CARE is a multidisciplinary veterinary specialist and emergency hospital located in Collingwood , centrally situated on the fringe of Melbourne’s CBD. We are a large 24‑hour, multidisciplinary hospital staffed with an outstanding team of veterinarians, nurses, and support staff working alongside specialists in surgery, internal medicine, and emergency & critical care. Role and Responsibilities The position involves primary responsibility for the treatment of primary accession and referred cases to our emergency and critical care department, as well as shared care of hospitalized patients from both the primary emergency caseload and other specialist departments. Management of cases in the ICU often involves discussion and assistance from multiple specialist disciplines, providing an excellent opportunity for learning and case follow‑up. Work Arrangement and Compensation Permanent part‑time or full‑time position. Typical rotations are 120 hrs per 4‑week period, but we will work with you to determine a schedule that fits your needs. Shifts are 10 or 12.5 hours long, covering 24‑hour periods. We support a balanced roster that includes both day and overnight shifts. Generous hourly rate; you are paid for the hours you work. Up to 5 weeks annual leave, study leave, and other perks. Qualifications Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent with Veterinary Registration in VIC – essential. Experience in an emergency veterinary setting is desirable; we welcome applicants with a strong attitude who are eager to learn. An interest and some experience in routine and emergency surgery is ideal. Commitment to teamwork, strong communication skills, and a positive workplace contribution.
