About the Role Based in Townsville, this permanent senior leadership role offers a rare opportunity to help shape the future of Queensland’s critical minerals sector. As Director, Zones and Projects, you’ll lead the delivery of strategic initiatives under the Queensland Critical Minerals Strategy, including the development of regional Critical Minerals Zones. This role drives collaboration between industry, First Nations communities, investors and government to unlock sustainable economic opportunities across the state. Why work for us? Support mining project proponents to bring their projects to operation and oversee infrastructure feasibility studies that inform government investment. Manage complex, multi‑stakeholder case management, provide authoritative advice to senior leaders and influence how infrastructure and regulatory pathways are aligned to support new investment. Use analytical and strategic thinking skills to assess proposals, interpret research and oversee contract management and scoping of specialist work related to infrastructure, land use and baseline assessments.
