Risk Specialist (BAU) 6-Month Contract | Possible Extension Location: Brisbane CBD | Hybrid Working Available A leading Queensland statutory organisation is seeking an experienced Risk Specialist (BAU) to support its enterprise risk function during an exciting period of organisational change. As the organisation undergoes a major restructure, this role plays a critical part in ensuring continuity, stability, and excellence in risk governance. You will join a high-performing risk team to provide expert advice, uplift frameworks, support business units, and maintain best-practice risk management processes across the organisation. Key Responsibilities Provide specialist advice to business units on risk identification, assessment, controls, and treatment plans. Support the ongoing maturity of the enterprise risk management framework. Conduct BAU risk activities including reporting, monitoring risk registers, and compliance reviews. Partner with internal stakeholders to embed strong risk culture and ensure alignment with organisational objectives. Contribute to risk insights for executive and board reporting. Strengthen controls, documentation, and risk practices during the transition period. Assist in change-related risk impacts stemming from the organisational restructure. About You Strong capability in risk management within a complex organisation. Ability to operate effectively during periods of change and ambiguity. Skilled in developing and reviewing risk frameworks, registers, and controls. Highly collaborative, with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
