Maintenance Fitter

JOB DESCRIPTION WMPG is seeking a mature, self-driven and proactive Maintenance Fitter to join our team on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, your duties will include but are not limited to: Maintaining and repairing various equipment including packaging machinery, grinders, conveyors, and vacuum machine. Being able to diagnose, fault find and repair. Performing preventative maintenance schedules, attending breakdowns, minimising downtime and implementing constant improvement initiatives. Playing an active part in installation and overhaul activities. Carrying out inspections. Maintaining safe work & operating practices and high standard of housekeeping. Contributing to team structures to achieve maintenance targets. Involvement with company continuous improvement. Contribution as an active member of the WMPG team. HOURS OF WORK Monday to Friday. Saturday at penalty rates. JOB CRITERIA To be successful in this role, you will possess: Experience in meat processing environment (desirable). At least 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role. Basic welding – Stick & mix (desirable). Willing and able to undergo a pre-employment medical. The ability to multitask and prioritise. The ability to be highly organised, reliable, and committed to the role. The ability to be flexible with your availability and work hours. The ability to find appropriate solutions to routine problems and be flexible in a dynamic environment.
