Formulation Scientist

Role Description This is a full‑time on‑site role located in Mulgrave, VIC, for a Formulation Scientist. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative formulations, conducting laboratory experiments, and optimising formulations for various applications. You will perform technology transfer, support scale‑up processes, and actively participate in research and development (R&D). Additionally, you will document findings, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Formulation Development: Assist in designing and preparing topical and injectable formulations; conduct pre‑formulation studies, stability programs, and small‑scale manufacture; support development of specialised techniques (e.g., rheology, IVRT, nanoemulsion processes). Project Support & Client Engagement: Contribute to projects from concept to manufacturing readiness; assist in preparing technical reports and regulatory documentation; participate in client meetings. Facility & Operations: Help to maintain laboratory operations, equipment upkeep, and compliance with GMP and safety protocols. Innovation: Stay informed on new technologies and approaches; contribute ideas for prototypes and help maintain in‑house formulation registers. Quality & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to ICH guidelines, GMP/GLP principles; maintain accurate documentation; support audits and continuous improvement initiatives. People & Culture: Foster collaboration within the team and demonstrate a growth mindset in all interactions. Qualifications and Experience BSc/MSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences or a related field Minimum 2‑3 years’ experience in formulation development (topical/injectable focus preferred) within a pharmaceutical/CDMO environment (recent graduates with some formulation development experience may also be considered) Proficiency in laboratory skills including experimental design, data analysis, and lab equipment operation Experience with formulation development and optimisation for different product applications Strong knowledge of research and development (R&D), including innovative problem‑solving and product development Familiarity with technology transfer and manufacturing processes and understanding of GMP requirements Excellent organisational, documentation, and communication skills Ability to work collaboratively in team environments and independently Experience with dermatology, pharmaceutical, or cosmetic products is advantageous Why Join Us?
