Role Description This is a full-time on-site role located in Mulgrave, VIC, for an experienced Senior Formulation Scientist . In this role, you will be responsible for leading complex formulation devleopment projects across liquid and semisolid dosage forms, particularly topical and injectable products, and occasionally oral, cosmetic, or veterinary applications. You will combine hands‑on technical expertise with strategic project oversight, ensuring timely delivery of robust, regulatory‑compliant formulations that meet client objectives. Acting as a senior technical contact, you will drive innovation, mentor junior staff, and contribute to Formulytica’s mission and values every day. Key Responsibilities Formulation Development: Design and optimise topical and injectable formulations; conduct pre‑formulation studies, stability programmes, and small‑scale manufacture; develop specialised techniques (e.g., rheology, IVRT, nanoemulsion processes). Project Management & Client Engagement: Lead projects from concept to GMP readiness; serve as a key client contact; prepare technical reports and regulatory documentation. Facility & Operations: Support lab operations, equipment maintenance, and GMP compliance. Innovation: Identify new technologies and approaches; develop prototypes and maintain in‑house formulation registers. Quality & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to ICH guidelines, GMP/GLP principles; maintain documentation standards; support audits. People & Culture: Mentor junior scientists; foster collaboration and demonstrate a growth mindset in all interactions. Qualifications and Experience BSc/MSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences or a related field (PhD desirable) Minimum 5 years’ experience in formulation development (topical/injectable focus) within a pharmaceutical/CDMO environment Strong knowledge of formulation chemistry, GMP principles, and regulatory requirements (TGA/FDA/EMA) Proven ability to manage projects and engage with clients Proficiency in Laboratory Skills including experimental design, data analysis, and lab equipment operation Experience with Formulation development and optimisation for different product applications Strong knowledge of R&D, including innovative problem‑solving and product development Familiarity with technology transfer and manufacturing processes and understanding of GMP requirements Excellent organisational, documentation, and communication skills Ability to work collaboratively in team environments and independently Experience with dermatology, pharmaceutical, or cosmetic products is advantageous Why Join Us?
