Manager / Associate Director - R&D Tax & Grants

Flexibility: 100% hybrid – work from anywhere in Australia The Opportunity This role will appeal to experienced Big 4 or Mid-Tier R&D Tax and Grants professionals who enjoy complex, high-value work but are ready for more influence, less red tape, and a sustainable work–life balance. Our R&D Tax and Government Grants practice is in a high-growth phase, and this role sits at the centre of that growth. You will work directly with senior leadership, shape how the practice operates, and have genuine input into strategy, clients, and team development — not just execution. What You'll Be Doing Lead and deliver R&D Tax Incentive claims across a diverse and innovative client base Advise clients on government grants, incentives, and funding programs Act as a senior technical and commercial adviser to founders, CFOs, and boards Review and sign off on technical eligibility, financial calculations, and documentation Mentor and develop consultants in a growing team Contribute to practice development, systems, and service design Engage with the ATO, AusIndustry, and other stakeholders as required About You Currently working (or recently worked) in a Big 4 or Mid-Tier firm within R&D Tax, Innovation, or Government Incentives Operating at Manager or Associate Director level (or ready to step up) Strong technical grounding in Australian R&D Tax Incentives and grants Minimum 2-3 years of R&D Tax experience required Commercial, pragmatic, and confident dealing directly with clients Looking for a role where you can influence outcomes, not just follow process CA/CPA or relevant tertiary qualification (highly regarded) CA/CPA qualification is required Australian work rights required at time of application Why This Role Is Different Real influence: you'll help shape the practice, not just service it Fast-growing business with momentum and leadership access Work–life balance that's actually respected — outcomes over hours 100% hybrid / work-from-anywhere in Australia Clear runway to senior leadership for the right person Next Steps If you're coming from Big 4 or Mid-Tier and want to apply your expertise in a more agile, human, and high-impact environment, we'd love to talk.
