Join Canberra Metro Operations (CMET) as a Horticulturist and help maintain the beautiful landscapes that frame Canberra's light rail network — one of the ACT's newest and most iconic infrastructure projects. This position forms part of CMET's Landscape Maintenance team (Landscape Gardener function), focusing on the care, maintenance, and enhancement of the landscaped areas along the light rail corridor. What You'll Be Doing Carry out preventative landscaping activities such as weeding, planting, watering, herbicide application, mulching, pruning, and mowing. Perform corrective maintenance, including removing and reinstating damaged landscaping. Follow daily schedules to deliver agreed maintenance outcomes. Operate vehicles, plant, tools, and equipment. Complete work orders under the guidance of the Landscape Supervisor. Always work safely and follow CMET's railway and traffic management procedures. Apply your knowledge and practical experience across urban forest management, native grasslands, turf maintenance and integrated weed management programs.
