Factory Maintenance Manager

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Factory Maintenance Manager to join our Stapylton team. This role would suit a trade-qualified professional with a Fitter and Turner or Maintenance background, who thrives in a manufacturing environment and is physically fit, reliable, and safety-focused. You’ll be responsible for ensuring all mechanical systems, tools, and equipment are maintained to support efficient, safe, and continuous production. Core Duties Perform planned and unplanned maintenance on critical production equipment Maintain and service all machinery, hand tools, and mechanical systems Keep a detailed log of maintenance and repairs undertaken Maintain a preventative maintenance schedule Manage spare parts and tool inventory Complete a daily maintenance diary Fabricate, assemble, and test parts using mechanical and welding tools Recommend and coordinate outsourced maintenance services when required Liaise with external contractors and service providers Support Research and Development activities as required Assist production teams to achieve targets when needed Carry out minor electrical and building repairs (if qualified) Replenishment of maintenance equipment and materials as needed Maintain a safe working environment and ensure compliance with safety procedures Other duties as required by the Operations Manager Safety Responsibilities Maintain full compliance with Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) standards Identify, report, and rectify faults and hazards immediately Manage and mitigate risks associated with high-risk plant and equipment Experience & Qualifications Mechanical trade background essential (Fitter & Turner or equivalent) High level of mechanical aptitude experience maintaining roll formers highly desirable Proven expertise in machinery servicing and repair High initiative and attention to detail Excellent understanding of safe work practices. Good communication and time management skills Ability to be flexible in approach to work and to prioritise tasks. Ability to maintain records regarding material, equipment, and repairs.
