Senior Category Buyer - Seasonal & Decor Job no: Work type: Permanent / Full timeLocation: Support Office - Docklands In alignment with the Myer Merchandise strategy and Customer First plan, as a Senior Category Buyer – Seasonal & Decor, you will develop, buy and execute a category plan that delivers a compelling and profitable merchandise range that puts the customer first. Oversee the entire Seasonal and Décor categories in this Senior role Work partly remotely and partly from our Support Office based in Docklands Perfect opportunity for a Senior Buyer/Buyer to step up and further develop their leadership career About the Opportunity Take ownership and drive the execution of the Myer Merchandise strategy for Myer’s Seasonal and Decor brands Full accountability for trading the category and implementing appropriate tactical activities in relation to sales, profit, stock to drive business outcomes Further develop your leadership career, reporting into the Category Manager, with potential to take on business development and market scoping activities as required Drive end to end business development and execution for both the brand and sourcing strategy for all Seasonal and Décor initiatives. Apply advanced negotiation skills to achieve optimal trading terms that deliver commercial targets Work collaboratively with the planning team to implement and approve assortment plans, conduct PSA, build product strategy, and determine best sourcing methods for the product Be responsible for marketing plans and our communications strategy Lead team to high performance through regular and effective coaching, feedback, mentoring and training and development opportunities About you A dynamic, strategic individual with the ability to proactively spot new opportunities for the business within this category Strong business acumen, financial and analytical skills Experienced in trade marketing and strong negotiation skills Passionate for product with experience in ranging that demonstrates interpretation of trends into a successful product range A leader who inspires others and can lead by example From humble beginnings in downtown Bendigo to supporting Australian communities far and wide- Myer has always been a special place, transcending beyond just a place to work.
