Lead transformational learning programs with deep cultural purpose Kanyirninpa Jukurrpa (KJ) is an award-winning Martu organisation based in Newman, WA. Guided by Martu elders — some of the last Pujiman (desert‑born) people in Australia — KJ delivers a suite of land management, cultural and social programs across four remote communities and Newman. Our mission is to work alongside Martu as they look after Country, culture, families and communities. We're now seeking an Area Lead – Learning & Development to champion the Learning and development approach as a critical pathway for Martu engagement in all KJ programs. Most specifically through two, interconnected programs — Wama Wangka and the Martu Leadership Program (including the Women's Leadership Program). You will provide opportunities for Martu to gain key knowledge whilst fostering unity and confidence. These programs strengthen Martu identity, leadership and capability for a strong Martu future. This is a rare opportunity to bring your leadership, strategic insight, and cultural integrity to a respected Martu organisation making a real difference on Country. You'll shape program direction, secure and steward resources, mentor emerging Martu leaders, and ensure every initiative stays true to Martu priorities and values. What you'll bring Proven experience leading cross-cultural or community development programs. Strategic thinking, strong operational delivery and budget management skills. A collaborative leadership style that builds trust and grows capability. Deep respect for Aboriginal culture and a willingness to learn from Martu. Excellent communication, facilitation and problem‑solving skills. Experience in remote contexts or familiarity with Martu language and culture will be highly regarded.
